Happy new year!

We hope you all had a fun and exciting Christmas this year!

Last year was amazing for us. It’s hard to believe Mico Couture only started in March as we’ve done so much already! We’ve had so many photoshoots, a fashion show, stalls, and in addition to our standard ranges, have made some really fun custom items for you. So thank you! You made 2011 fabulous for us!

Now it’s 2012 (as if you hadn’t noticed) and we’ve just had our New Year business meeting. Just an hour or so needed to get a bit organised and make sure we’re travelling in the same stylistic direction, discuss the various events we’ll be trading at, choose and prioritise a few designs and ranges from Josie’s vast and varied design portfolio.

*cough* Josie’s portfolion. 1. An unruly heap of designs and diagrams pencilled, inked and crayoned on to design sheets, scraps of paper, pieces of cardboard, envelopes, beer mats and any assorted scribble-on-able materials.

We’ve got some truly cool things to bring bring you over the next few months. Some beautiful classic styles and some really great unique items!

We also discussed a few side-projects, promotions and collaborations and an exciting request to stock our creations in our favourite shop in Manchester! (We will let you know more about that in a few weeks.)

We’re very excited about this year and it’s barely even underway!

Our short list of events we’ll be trading at is as follows:
Resistanz
International Industrial Music Festival, Sheffield. 7th – 8th April 2012

Infest
Alternative electronic music festival, Bradford. 24th – 26th August 2012

(provisionally also including)
Whitby Gothic Weekend
Gothic music festival, Whitby. 1st – 5th November 2012

We may get the stall out to a few more events during the year, but we’ll let you know about those as and when they are decided.

So now all that’s left to do is decide on a promotion to welcome in the year.

Is there anything you would like to do as a promotion at some point? Email or leave a comment to let us know what offers you would like to see!

For anyone out there who doesn’t know about Infest: it’s a great electronic music festival held annually in Bradford. There are some fantastic acts this year, and as usual, some wonderful alternative stalls selling allsorts of nice shiny new things.

And don’t forget, as with all our events, there will be the Sale rail. Perfect latex clothing that has been worn only a matter of minutes in fashion shows and photoshoots at crazy low prices. What’s not to like?

So do come and say hello, we don’t bite :)

MicoCouture.com version 2.0, new ranges, fashion show news and even more!

Welcome to the new look Mico Couture website! As you can see we’ve spent some time over the last few weeks designing a website to better suit what we do here at Mico Couture. It’s still a work in progress and we’ll be making changes here and there but we do feel the general look and functionality is there. Do let us know what you think, let us know if you have any problems and if you have any ingenious ideas or requests send them on in and we may well use them!

Glancing at the new site you’ll notice we’ve also organised things into their ranges to make browsing the shop a little more versatile. The ranges are fairly self-explanatory, but just incase you’re unsure, here is the lowdown:

…our Classic range features all the timeless garments that are essential for any latex lovers wardrobe. Key pieces that go with anything and everything!

…our Pin-up range boasts feminine latex clothing with soft flattering lines inspired by the cheesecake and pin-up girls of the 1950′s. Pencil skirts, high waisted girdles and cute little bows galore!

…our Tanzer range of clubwear offers bold lines, contrasting panels and an overall futuristic feel. Great for all your cyber clubwear needs.

…our Revol range is all about stern, sharp tailoring and an abundance of braces for a sophisticated military look.

…our Boneyard range sees the return of our uber-cute skully applique! Bone piles, skullkadots and a variety of applique skulduggery.

…our Neo-Vintage range is perfect for those who like their latex with Steampunk or Victoriana undertones.

We’ve also introduced a line of Accessories to compliment the various ranges. They match our garments perfectly and really complete any outfit. You could even get away with wearing one of our Micro Rose Solitaire Rings or some Micro Bow Ear Studs to the office! But I strongly suggest you relegate our girdles to ‘dress down Friday’ at the very least. ;)
Back to Bedlam Fashion Show

In other news…you’ll be pleased to hear our fashion show at “Back to Bedlam” went spectacularly. The whole event was loosely themed on a Victorian Asylum/circus/bordello, with a variety of stalls and entertainments through the evening. We had great fun playing with the theme during our fashion show and presented six outfits, ranging from a straight-jacket influenced ensemble featuring a buckled cropped top combined with long strap-gloves which buckled to the rear of the top, an under-bust Victoriana style skirt with built-in petticoats and our quad-braces, a cup-less corselette with a striped panel and slim figure-framing shoulder straps, an underbust play-suit with bow details on the front and our quad-braces, and a cropped oversized hooded top with fake fur trim, high-waisted shorts, and belt-mounted holster bag… *and breathe!* All of the models performed brilliantly and a great night was had by all.

We’re also happy to announce that we will be trading at this years Infest festival in Bradford on the Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of August (n.b. there are no traders on Friday). There will be Infest special offers on the days and pre-orders for both garments and accessories are welcome. Please email sales@micocouture.com to place your pre-order. You also have enough time to order your garments and receive them in time to take with you to Infest so order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

That’s all for now, we’re off to read through the new site again and make sure there are no glaring errors!

As usual, email us if you have any questions, suggestions or offers of free cake on sales@micocouture.com

Welcome to Mico Couture

Hi there potential new customer. ;) Welcome to Mico Couture!

As you may already be aware, particularly if you have come along with us from our former home, Mico Couture is one of the two new incarnations of Lickorishlatex. (The other being Arcanum Accessories.)

Mico Couture will predominantly be the garment department of Lickorishlatex, separated off from the Lickorishlatex accessories range to devote our time almost exclusively to garments. So although we are starting out with the basic Lickorishlatex range, we’ll be bringing you scores of fantastic new designs over the coming few months!

This is a really exciting change for us. We love the old Lickorishlatex accessories and everything that went along with creating them, and will miss them and their super-cute goodness. But by moving outside of their sphere, we will now have the time to bring into the shop our amazing garment designs that have, up and to this point, only seen the light of day as one-off custom pieces, or fashion show stoppers, that strut and fret their hour upon the stage and then are heard no more. (Oh, culture!) So watch this shop! Pretty things shall ensue!

We have set up a Mico Couture Facebook page, so make sure you join to keep abreast of the new releases, and special offers we’ll be exclusively posting up there!

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Mico-Couture/155796601145974

Mico Couture is also on twitter, so if you would like a voyeuristic peek into the banal inconsequentialities of my mind as I tell you earth trembling news, like what I had in my sandwich at lunchtime.

http://twitter.com/#!/micocouture

And if you’re old-school, chill with us on Myspace.

So anyway, watch this space for the Mico Couture news and gossip.

What can you expect from Mico Couture?

Under the new name of Mico Couture we will be bringing you the same extremely high standards of quality, and service you enjoyed with us at Lickorishlatex. The same fantastic collection of iconic styles, and introducing over the coming weeks some exciting new looks.

Made to measure as standard.

If you’ve had a breeze around the shop already you may have noticed that we have no standard dress sizes. All of our garments are made to measure for every customer!

This is one of the great benefits of shopping with a small label, the person cutting and constructing your garment is a designer. Not only does this mean that the garment is incredibly well made, but when it is being drawn out, size alterations and customisations are a relatively simple and reliable option, with the person making the alterations having an intimate knowledge of the garment and knowing exactly what needs to be done to make your garment a perfect fit.

We do have plans to introduce an off-the-peg boutique section to the shop, which will contain a stock of pre-made items in standard dress sizes and popular colours. This section is intended for those times when you find yourself suddenly in desperate need of a fantastic latex outfit, with only a couple of days notice. (You’d be surprised how often this happens.) You’ll have access to a dynamic stock of items, so you can order a garment in the knowledge that it’ll be put in the post to you on the following working day.

Fast delivery.

Aside from our extremely high quality standards, getting your order to you without delay is our highest priority. We’ll keep a generalised idea of current order turnaround times displayed on the front page and shipping and delivery page of the website in the form of the Days to Dispatch notice.
